Kabazaiku tea box

This tea box is completely carved by hand. The craftsman made this piece of cherry bark, according to the traditional Japanese technique of Kabazaiku, Making it possible to bring out the segments of the wood. The properties of cherry wood allow excellent preservation of tea leaves, the flavor of which improves over time.

These tea boxes (Chazutsu) Are an integral part of the tea ceremony.
